About John Hyatt
Hello! Thank you for visiting my website.
I love to help people figure things out and create conditions for success in what they do and in what they want. As a speaker, coach, and trainer, I transform audiences and individuals by helping them “Show Up Available®” for leadership, life, and love. How do I do it? By getting my audiences and clients to see things in a different way, they then become available for expanding their thinking, feeling, speaking, and behavioral skills to align with the results they want. The approach works nearly every time.
I got interested in becoming a Life Coach in 2006 when I realized the value of people who had helped me on my journey. I realized that I wanted to help others, too. I became a Certified Life Coach in 2010 after attending a program called “LifeWorks School of Coaching” offered by Farra Allen in Atlanta, Georgia. That experience transformed me and provided the foundation for my coaching approach and model, as well as developing me personally and professionally.
My leadership background comes from 27 years of service in the US Army. In 2013, I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving my final year of service in Afghanistan. I had plenty of other deployments and opportunities during that time to observe and practice leadership first-hand. I leverage this experience in my approach to helping executives, business owners, and other leaders face decision-making and problem-solving opportunities. In addition to my own leadership coaching practice, I am also an Executive Coach with Lee Hecht Harrison in Atlanta. In this role, I specialize in talent and leadership development and coach C-Suite, high potential, and other corporate executives.

I leverage many tools in my speaking and coaching and I am proud to be a Certified Speaker, Coach and Trainer with The John Maxwell Team. John Maxwell’s leadership principles are time-tested across every domain of leadership and teaching them adds value and depth to my approach.
Since 2013, I’ve had my own coaching practice on the town Square in Marietta, Georgia. My friends and neighbors call me “The Coach on the Square.” When I’m doing relationship coaching, I’m know as the “Coach of Love.”
I’m a country boy and grew up in Lovettsville, Virginia where I lived in on a dirt road in an old house built in 1813. I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Brigham Young University and my Executive Masters of Business Administration from Benedictine College. My other life adventures include being an Eagle Scout, a private investigator, a personal fitness trainer, a licensed broker with Merrill Lynch and SunTrust Bank, a car salesman, a military advisor for a defense contractor, and a commercial insurance agent.
When I’m not in front of audiences or clients helping them figure things out, I enjoy the outdoors and play Native American flutes and drums. I love to walk to the Marietta Square from my house, enjoy local community activities and relax with the occasional good cigar. I love my 5 children and 5 grandchildren and see them as my greatest contribution to the planet Earth.
